Job Support

Need help with employment?

Are you new to Canada and looking for work? Our Employment Access Program (EAP) is here to help! We support newcomers in preparing for jobs and learning how to search for work. Join us and meet our Employment Coaches through one-on-one meetings or group workshops. We also offer helpful information sessions to guide you through the job search process in Canada. Our support is available in-person and online in Toronto, Brampton, and Mississauga. Let us help you take your next step toward working in Canada!

How we can help

  • Creating a plan for your career: we help you in planning for your career by creating a clear, step-by-step path to reach your job goals

  • Learning and understanding Canadian Labour Market: we help you learn about the kinds of jobs that are popular and needed in Canada.

  • Writing a great resume and cover letter: we help you learn how to make a professional resume and cover letter to show your skills and experience.

  • Getting ready for job interviews: we help you prepare for questions and answers in job interviews

  • Exploring a different career: we help you discover and learn about various types of career paths

  • Understanding regulated professions and trades in Canada: we help you learn about jobs that need special licenses or training in Canada, and other important job-related topics

  • CCS Job Connect: is an online platform where employers can hire newcomer jobseekers directly. It also offers resources like job fairs and FREE training to support your career journey in Canada. Connect with us at https://ccsjobconnect.ca/

  • Newcomer Settlement & Language Training (NSLT) is a free program funded by Ontario that helps newcomers of all statuses build the skills, knowledge, and support they need to succeed in the Canadian job market.

Moving to a new country can be exciting yet challenging. At CCS, we support newcomers in settling, succeeding, and contributing to their new community. One example is a university lecturer from Afghanistan who arrived in 2022 as a government-assisted refugee. With a Master’s in International Relations and a background in Law and Political Science, she joined our Employment Support for Newcomers program, where she created a career plan, improved her resume, enhanced her job search skills, and gained interview preparation support, helping her confidently start building her career in Canada.

I am truly grateful to CCS for helping me prepare for the Canadian job market, improve my job search skills, and refine my resume and interview techniques, which led to me securing a position as a settlement worker at CCS..
